An Intercultural Framework to Foster Intercultural Inclusive Intelligence of all Cultures
This conceptual framework (Jordan, 2014) stems from Gloria Ladson-Billings’ theoretical underpinnings and research (1995), which includes cultural competence, positive cultural identity, equitable and adaptable approaches to learning c, and a cultural consciousness to disrupt racial and educational injustices globally. As an extension of Ladson-Billings’ research, the foundation of this Intercultural Competence framework also builds upon West African ancestral values embodied in the Adinkra symbols that represent the inherent philosophical thinking and approaches in living. These values are represented in the Asante language and are non-western approaches to the teaching and learning process.
